Monty pups

I couldn't resist posting this photo that Johanna sent to me. These are two pups from Monty's latest litter(I think 5 were in the litter) in Denmark. Isn't that little bi-black girl just yummy? And the tri boy is a spitting image of Monty at that age.

I always guessed that Monty was bi-factored but the bitch's owner didn't even know her bitch was bi-factored and the bi-black pups were a suprise!

Gorgeous - what does bi-black mean in sheltie terms please?

Bi-Black is Black/White. Bi-Coloured (Black and White) vs. Tri-coloured (Black, tan and white). Bi-Black is recessive to tri-colour; so both parents need to carry the gene.

I love bi-blacks Shelties. I have always wanted one. But I guess Sydney (black and white GSP) will have to do instead, because I won't part with any of my sables... (or is that bi-tan?) And I think you are truly going British on us Yanks. Bi-coloured? That "U" didn't come from Long Island!
